The County Seat and the Country Around It
Berryville is the Carroll County seat, and the roofing here does not stop at the house. Around town and out along the county roads there are shops, barns, equipment sheds, pole buildings, and outbuildings that matter as much to the people who own them as the roof over the kitchen does. A leak over a workshop ruins tools. A leak over a hay barn ruins the year.
Most contractors treat those as separate jobs, or do not want the second one at all. We would rather do the house and the shop behind it on the same visit, with the same crew and one conversation about the whole property. Our Harrison office is a short drive west, and this is exactly the kind of work it exists for. Local line (870) 280-2180 or (833) 492-7663.
Where Metal Earns Its Keep
On working buildings metal is usually the right answer and it is not a close call. Exposed fastener metal is the workhorse for barns, shops, equipment sheds, and pole buildings: it goes on quickly over purlins, it stands up to sun and hail far better than asphalt, it sheds snow and debris, and it lasts decades rather than years. For a house, or for an outbuilding somebody wants to look finished, standing seam hides its fasteners entirely, so there are no exposed screws and rubber gaskets working loose on a schedule.
Asphalt still has its place on a residence, particularly where an existing neighbourhood look matters or where budget shapes the decision. What we will do is tell you which building wants which, rather than putting the same product on everything because it is what is on the truck. Free inspection of the whole property: request one online or call.
One Crew, the House and Everything Behind It
Doing a property in one pass has practical advantages beyond convenience. The crew is already mobilised, so a shop roof that would be an awkward standalone job becomes straightforward. Materials can be ordered together. And most usefully, when a storm has been through, all the buildings get documented at the same time — which matters, because outbuilding damage is routinely the part a homeowner forgets to mention until after the adjuster has already been and gone.
Our Arkansas storm damage page covers the inspection, and the Arkansas roof insurance claim guide covers filing. Whether outbuildings are covered depends on your policy — we document what we find and let the policy decide.
Berryville Roofing Questions
Metal or shingles for my shop?
Metal, in nearly every case. On a shop, barn, or equipment building the priorities are lifespan, hail resistance, and low maintenance, and metal wins on all three. It can be installed over purlins without full decking, which suits how most of these buildings are framed, and it does not mind the temperature swings inside an uninsulated structure the way asphalt does. The main reasons to choose otherwise are matching an existing roof or a specific appearance requirement, and we will say so if that applies.
Can you do the house and the outbuildings on one visit?
Yes, and it is generally the better way to do it. One inspection covering every structure, one written assessment for the whole property, one mobilisation. We will still tell you if the buildings are on genuinely different timelines — a shop roof with ten good years should not be replaced just because the house needs doing — but you will have the full picture and can decide what happens when.
My metal roof is leaking around the screws. Does it all have to come off?
Usually not. Fastener backout and failed gaskets are the most common way an exposed-fastener roof starts leaking, and they are repairable: screws can be replaced with larger-diameter fasteners with new washers, and seams and ridge details can be resealed properly. That buys years on a panel roof that is otherwise sound. Replacement becomes the answer when the panels themselves have rusted through, when the holes have elongated so much that fasteners no longer bite, or when hail has broken the coating across the whole roof. We will tell you which situation you are in and show you why.
